Jonathan Perez, 33, was charged with two counts of first-degree aggravated sexual assault, one count of sexual assault and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child, according to Cape May County Prosecutor Jeffrey H. Sutherland.
He was indicted by a county grand jury on Tuesday, April 25.
New Jersey State Police in Woodbine and the county prosecutor's office investigated a report that Perez, a corrections officer at Cape May Correctional Facility, had been sexually assaulting a girl.
Perez was arrested on Feb. 12.
He was suspended without pay, Sutherland said.
